21 February

On 21 February, which was actually my first day in the MA class, we had a seminar on Scriptwriting. These are my notes and some senario tips:

Protagonist and Antagonist
Heroes- save something or someone, carries moral values, sacrifice, identify, inspiring
AntiHeroes- not necessarily good,quirky, complex

Ulrich Bloch- Up a tree throw stones on them and get them down again
"Threeness":
Problem - obstacles - solution
set up - development -resolution
Decision - action/reaction - consequenses
beginning -muddle - end

Three act stracture

1ST ACT
Ordinnary world
Catalyst (something that will change the story)
extraordianry event
raises the central question of the story
Refusal off the call
Backstory
1st Turning Point- hero chases to fight

2ND ACT
test Allies & enemies
Obstacles escalating
Varied obstacles
Diversions, Red herrings
Crisis (central or late)
Big gloom, dark moment
Epiphany, seizing the sword, Revelation
2nd turning point

3RD ACT
chase
the end is in sight
ticking clock
climax central question is answered
post climax resolution
